Uniq, a private security service provider based in southern India, has its corporate office in Bangalore. It was established in 1996 when private security services were still in their nascent stage in the southern region. Uniq Security Solutions became the pioneer in highlighting the fact that private security services had emerged as the second line of defense in restoring law and order after the police, and were an effective way of reducing vandalism, theft, and damages to property.
Uniq employs 10,500 personnel in various segments across south India, including large core industries, garment manufacturing hubs, and IT and ITES MNCs. It has a large product portfolio to offer its customers and is migrating from traditional manpower deployment to man-tech solutions in a cost-effective manner. As part of the process, the customer establishment is resurveyed by the man-tech team, and a solution is designed based on physical barriers, integration of systems (both using existing systems more intelligently and implementing new solutions), and skilled manpower to address system requirements and improve command and control.
Uniq has a comprehensive network across the southern peninsula, with six major branches and multiple area offices. All branches have Quick Response Team (QRT) units for night patrols to ensure customer safety. All supervision and checks are conducted through the i-Ops platform, which is monitored centrally at the National Quality Centre (NQC) in Bangalore. Even night checks are captured through this app, and reports are shared with customers for their perusal. To eradicate complacency, Uniq conducts on-the-job training (OJT) through a mobile van called m-Trainer, which is equipped with state-of-the-art instruments, including systems, video walls, and 160 presentations on various subjects. All data pertaining to training and attendees are captured and endorsed by customer representatives, and reports are shared with customers.
